Faith
I have been thinking about faith the past few days, and I just can’t shake it.
It started last Thursday, and as I write this, it is Wednesday morning.
Thursday began with an unexpected adventure and ended with a heart filled with wonder.
I also had a few conversations this week with someone very close to me who is rising above an attack on her health.
Both of these situations required FAITH. Allow me to explain.
I listen to the promptings of Holy Spirit. He is everything. He is the One sent by Jesus Himself to lead and guide us into all Truth. He whispers and shows us the way. He directs our path and orders our steps. He counsels, advocates, and orchestrates. Oh, how I love Him!
I call these promptings “invitations” because there is always a divine assignment, alignment, or appointment involved.
On Thursday, I was prompted to go for a drive and pray. I grabbed a matcha, stopped by the post office, and felt like I should head West for a bit. East would have taken me back home. I debated for a second but followed His lead. I drove for a bit and considered turning around to go home, but I heard that familiar voice … “Keep Going.” So I did.
I passed the hotel I stayed in when I moved to the beach two years ago, and the Lord reminded me of something critically important … He is GOOD. The morning I was moving into my new place, I met the sweetest family of four in the lobby of that hotel. They randomly and willingly volunteered (all four of them) to help with the move. Angels … all of them. And it wasn’t until the move was complete that I discovered their last name …
“GOOD.”
The Good family helped me move. ←
Driving past that hotel was a beautiful reminder of the GOODness of God. I needed to be reminded of His goodness that day.
I felt like I should keep going … so I drove further West.
Minutes from the hotel, I passed a huge sign that said JESUS LOVES YOU. In that moment … it hit just right. My day was made. I was full of peace and joy … I had encountered the love of God. I could turn around, right? No … keep going … →→→
There is no turning around in the KINGdom, by the way. Always keep moving forward. Don’t look back. Life is best lived through the front windshield, not in the rearview mirror.
So I drove …
30 minutes later I was on the bridge to Pensacola Beach, with the top down, enjoying the weather and the atmosphere. The Jeremy Camp song, “Revival,” came on the radio, and I looked up to see the Blue Angels flying directly overhead. The Spirit of the Lord was so strong that I cried. I felt His Presence and Power, and I knew He was speaking.
I ended up getting front row seats at the biggest airshow of the year and having my world rocked for the next couple of hours.
But here is where FAITH comes in …
I left that show with power, glory, and majesty resonating in my heart and mind. I wrote a new song over the next couple of days called “Dunamis,” and I designed the album cover with a giant wave on it. The wave is what I kept seeing in the spirit as I prayed, and it is what I have seen for many years in my mind’s eye when it comes to revival. I have had dreams for years of mega-tsunami waves, and I knew they represented revival.
I released the song on Sunday morning. Then on Monday, a tropical storm came through our area with the biggest waves I have seen. Massive, powerful waves. No storms, no tornadoes, no damage … strangely, just these giant waves that reminded everyone who saw them of RAW POWER. Interestingly, the word dunamis is a Greek word that means power, potential, or ability. It is where we get the word dynamite. It appears over 120 times in the New Testament, and it is most famously used in Acts 1:8, where Jesus promises His followers they will receive "power" (dunamis) when the Holy Spirit comes upon them. In this context, it translates to miraculous power, supernatural strength, and the inherent ability to carry out God's will.
FAITH and DUNAMIS are two sides of the same coin.
I drove by faith that day. I wrote and released that song by faith. I designed that cover by faith.
Then on Tuesday, I had a conversation with someone about their health, and I prayed with them. I felt FAITH arise in both of us. I prayed from a place of absolute belief. I know that I know that I know … IT IS FINISHED.
Faith releases healing - spirit, soul, and body.
Faith opens doors that no man can close.
Faith moves mountains.
I believe many people have lost faith … and it’s time to get it back.
Faith truly CHANGES EVERYTHING. When we BELIEVE, God moves.
Unlike everything else in this world, faith cannot be manufactured, it cannot be bought, and it cannot be sold. It cannot be faked or forced. Faith is cultivated in the secret place.
As people of God … BELIEVERS … it is our ultimate responsibility to build ourselves up in our most holy FAITH daily. One way we do this, according to Jude 20, is by praying in the spirit on all occasions.
We pray, we worship, we study His Word, and we sharpen iron with other believers.
Faith is BUILT. It grows with depth and intimacy as we seek Jesus daily.
Without faith, it is impossible to please God. (Hebrews 11:6)
Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. (Hebrews 11:1)
God wants to move in our lives and in the earth.
All we have to do is believe.
