From a SEED to a SEASON
Wow.
Today is one of those days when I have been unexpectedly encountered by the Lord, starting with His powerful Presence in my atmosphere all morning while listening to the new soaking EP I released this week.
Followed by an absolute revelation while I was cleaning papaya seeds and putting them in the dehydrator.

This one has layers, so bear with me as I try to get it all out in a cohesive way.
Last night, on my evening prayer walk, I noticed something unusual. I walk on the beach daily, and I have not seen a green plant growing out of the sand. I’m sure it happens, but last night seemed different. It drew my attention in a way that felt significant, although I could not fully see why.
Today, I woke up with a strong desire to simply spend time in the Lord’s Presence (everything else flows from that place). I hit play on my new soaking EP - titled “HIS” (link at the bottom of this page) - and Holy Spirit showed up in a beautiful and powerful way.
So I spent some time in prayer and meditation, waiting on the Lord. I listened to a sermon by Pastor Troy Brewer on Ecclesiastes 3 about “Times and Seasons.”
Then I decided to clean and dehydrate some papaya seeds from the papaya I ate after my workout last night.
I put the seeds in the dehydrator and wrote a post on my Naturopath Dr. Jodi page about the benefits of these tiny powerhouses.
Once dehydrated, I will put the SEEDS in a pepper grinder and use them to SEASON my food.
This is where it got real serious, real fast.
In the midst of this process, the Lord began to speak to me … about how a SEED turns into a SEASON.
In the natural, these tiny papaya seeds serve a purpose. Track with me …
First … the seed goes into the ground, into the dirt, into the dark.
Then it sprouts. It breaks through the soil into the light and begins to face the sun (SON).
After sprouting - and with some water, nurture, and SONlight - growth occurs.
In the proper season, and at the right ("ripe") time - when fully mature - that seed produces FRUIT.
Within that fruit lie hundreds or even thousands of seeds, depending on the type and size. Consider this … from ONE SEED comes hundreds … or thousands.
Oh Beloved, I could stop right here and pray you “see” it, pray you hear it, pray you receive it. Not from me, but from Him, from the Only One who can cause a SEED to produce FRUIT in the proper SEASON.
Each phase of this process serves a PURPOSE.
Nothing is ever wasted in the Kingdom!
—> After the dark … after the dirt … after the breakthrough … after the growth … after the fruit …
………… and after the drying out …………
Pause. Right. There.
Someone is saying, “But after the fruit, why is there a drying out?”
Great question, and it is one I have also been asking.
The process from seed to fruit often stops there. We see fruit and imagine it is the end of the process … but what if it isn’t? What if it is actually the BEGINNING of an entirely NEW PROCESS?
For example … my dehydrated (dried) papaya seeds are the beginning of a new process that will create a new “season” and serve a new purpose.
What if the “drying out” also serves a purpose in our walk with God?
I have found that even after bearing fruit at the end of a difficult season, there is a “drying out” period, a time of THIRST that causes an even greater desire for more of God, more of the Kingdom, and more of His will. I have also found that if I will allow myself to surrender to that thirst, there is a longing for souls that begins to arise in a fresh way.
I believe this is where a new “SEASON” is being birthed.
This thirst for souls … the unquenchable passion to see Jesus exalted in the earth and to reach the lost for His glory … comes from that time of being “dried out” or “de-hydrated.”
It’s not that you haven’t been seeking Him. It’s not that you have done anything wrong or lacked anything. It is quite the opposite actually. Your pursuit of Him has increased your CAPACITY to receive MORE of Him. And when you get MORE OF HIM, you will ALWAYS get HIS HEART FOR THE LOST.
After the dehydration … comes the “new season.” Not just fruit … but a whole new flavor born out of that fruit.
Does this make sense?
—> ONE SEED will MULTIPLY into MANY SEEDS!
The MANY will MANIFEST in the proper SEASON, with the right LIGHT, the right LOVE, and the proper TIME.
Something important to note, however …
Fruit is meant to be ENJOYED.
The purpose of that fruit is to generate nourishment and vitality for your new season. Don’t stop when you “see” the fruit … determine to KEEP GOING and believe God to start a whole new process that will lead you into a brand new “season” based on the very fruit you are seeing.
The thing about fruit … if it is not picked and eaten within a certain timeframe, it will rot.
An no one wants rotten fruit lying around.
Selah. (Pause and reflect on that.)
Stay ready, so you don’t have to get ready.
When your SEASON arrives, don’t miss it. Don’t let the fruit rot. ENJOY what the Lord has helped you produce over time, and through the process.
I am stopping right here and asking the Lord to make His message clear to YOU, for such a time as this, in Jesus’ Name.
May your SEASON be filled with FRUIT and PURPOSE in HIM. Amen.
Note: As I was meditating on this message today, this song came to mind: “It’s Working” … This is your season … for grace, for favor … to reap what you have sown.
(I published this on 5/5 at 5pm) GRACE, GRACE, and MORE GRACE to you.
