Two Wolves
Sometimes I cry because the work God is doing on the inside is so deep that tears are the only expression that makes sense.
Not happy, not sad, just matter of fact tears that seem to say, “I see what You’re doing … and I’m here for it.”
Then I suck it up and keep moving forward.
Do you ever get the feeling you are exactly where you are meant to be, even if circumstances speak contrary to what you know to be true in your heart?
There is an old Native American proverb I have been meditating on for the past week … it’s a Cherokee tale of two wolves.
It has been on my mind because I literally hit a wolf and totaled my car one week ago today.
The tale goes like this: One evening, an elderly Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside each of us. He said, “My son, the battle is between two ‘wolves’ inside us all. One is evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, ego, and fear. The other is good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. The same fight is going on inside you - and inside every other person, too.” The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, “Which wolf wins?” The old Cherokee simply replied, “The one you feed.”
I have always seen the wolves as faith and fear.
The one we feed determines how far we go in life and love.
Life happens.
We cannot escape the trials or the fiery furnace.
But how we handle them is the greatest predictor of our fate and our future.
Faith leads us FORWARD. Fear causes us to FALL BACK.
As I have considered the implications of this car situation and the tale of the two wolves, I am reminded of how critical it is to kill fear.
Let me explain …
Fear is the wolf that will leap at you unexpectedly and destroy your life (aka your car), the vehicle God has given you to move forward with Him BY FAITH.
Fear does not play … it is a demonic spirit with a plan and purpose for your life. It is assigned to steal, kill, and destroy. It is intentional with its attacks, and it will stifle and silence the very voice God has given you to make a difference in this world.
“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” - 2 Timothy 1:7
“The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” - John 10:10
By stark contrast, FAITH is the vehicle God has given you to progress through life with victory and abundance. Faith helps you stack wins each day. Faith moves you forward with passion, purpose, focus, clarity, and determination.
I believe 2026 is offering us an opportunity to KILL FEAR and “KEEP THE FAITH,” as my stepdad always says.
Fear cannot go with you into 2026. It is not welcome! It must die.
And Faith wants to be your best friend in 2026, never leaving your side, always available and ready to help.
I encourage you to spend the remainder of 2025 praying into this. I know I will be.
Which wolf are you feeding?
It is time to feed faith and starve fear, in preparation for all God wants to release in 2026.
And if you think you are fearless … think again … the enemy of your soul knows the cracks in your foundation.
Allow God to reveal and heal any area that would give fear a foothold. He can do a quick work when we press in and ask the hard questions. Be still and let Him work. Don’t be afraid to let the hard stuff come to the surface.
I am seeing (in my mind’s eye) many people with so much pain and trouble stored in their souls because they have been afraid to face it. But guess what … that is FEAR doing what it does best … lying to you! If God wants to reveal something, it is always so He can heal it.
LET FEAR GO and LET FAITH GROW.
Truly … His best is yet to come.
Break into 2026 free from fear and watch what God will do.
Upgrades and promises fulfilled are coming your way.
Dreams and desires are manifesting.
Minds will be blown by His mercy and goodness.
Now is the time.
